Matthew 25:1-13, Mark 13 - Stay awake and be watchful

We have a problem demolition imminent, the temple has destroyed but Jesus did not return.  There will be ongoing distress in the world, this is the air of the fallen world.  There was a clear sign for the destruction of the temple but there is no  clear sign regarding the return of Jesus so be alert waiting for the masters return.

Mark 11: 1-33 Jesus sees to the heart of Jerusalem

As Jesus arrives on a donkey the comes to Jerusalem the crowd was ready to make him an earthly ruler but did not understand why he came. On the cursed fig tree is a prophecy about the the destruction of the temple there were leaves but no fruit. The outside of the temple is impressive but inside there was commerce and not much prayer. We need to show the fruit of love and obedience. Live the promises, of God, do worship well and have an inward change not just an outward show.

Jesus & Affluenza

What must I do to inherit eternal life? Jesus asks if we have got his standard in mind? Go sell everything give to the poor, will have treasures in heaven, then follow me. This sound nuts but our wealth is killing us, it is impossible for rich people to be saved. Make thankfulness a habit, believe no one is good including me, remember it is hard for the people to be saved, pray for them.

Mark 8:27-9:13 Jesus Revealed

Most of Jesus ministry is around Galilee.   He had a group of men with him and in chapter 8 of Marks gospel he begins to reveal who he his.  In a backdrop of idols and paganism he asks his disciples who do you say I am? Peter says the is the messiah but did not understand that he had come to die.  His disciples had to follow and listen.

Pharisees travelled 200 km to find out who this Jesus is. They did not not want to know about the healing but wanted to see if he  followed the ceremonial law.  Jesus said they had changed the law to suit themselves. Jesus has come to for-fill the law and make salvation available to all and renew hearts.  Be careful what you listen to and what you look at as these will corrupt your heart.

How do you come to Jesus this morning?  Do you know about Him or know about Him?  Today we meet tow people who are out of options one from the top of society and one from the bottom both are out of options.  Jesus meets the needs of people who come to for help using the faith and knowledge that they have.

Mark 3:7-34, 4:21-34 Jesus Enemies and His Family

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath and has power over can rebuke the demons who want to identify him. Some were wishing to accuse him for doing good and wished to kill him. He was preaching and bringing the kingdom of God. His family cam to take charge of him. My family are those that do Gods will.
