Lord Please make my Church: Faithful @Night
Monday Oct 16, 2017
Monday Oct 16, 2017
Our society too often gives the message that we must "tick off" a certain list of things in order to find happiness and joy. When we think about it, even subconsciously, our lives are cultivated to seek happiness in materialism and things that will ultimately fall away - like our lifestyles, homes, fashion, economics, the right car, the right job, the right home in the right suburb and 2.4 children attending the right school. It is an inward attitude that begets "self", and is often starkly contrasted in the Scriptures. The Scriptures talk about a different set of checklists. They talk about fruit and hope and endurance and adventure, and even faithfulness. The scriptures paint an entirely different picture of happiness - one found in Christ.
But how does being faithful in a world of indifference matter? How does it evoke change and growth and openness? How does an inward reflection of our dependence and security in Christ, lead outwards to make a daily difference in the lives of those not just those around us, but to live a life of purpose that ripples throughout Eternity.
Lead Pastor Stuart Starr begins our new series, devoted to seeking out the Lord to guide our church to be Faithful, Adventurous, Compassionate and Enduring. Join with the NewLife@10 service and find beauty in a life devoted to peaching the gospel and being forgotten. For being faithful, not famous.

The Forgiving Flow @Night
Monday Oct 09, 2017
Monday Oct 09, 2017
Whatever preconceived notions or ideas we have about God, and who He is and what He has planned for us for the next life, forgiveness is not exclusively what happens after we are buried, it has to do with the way we live right now. The fundamental power of forgiveness in our lives actually changes the direction of your feet and the ground on which we tread. Forgiveness is a gift, something that isn’t earned or won, but given freely. It is part of a flow that naturally needs to flow on, and when you enter into this flow, you are tapping into the foundational, resurrecting, transcending, Corner-Stone that our universe is built on.
Listen with Stuart Grant and the NewLife@Night service, as we seek forgiveness and restoration in our own lives - to live as Christ did - remembering that even on the cross Jesus pleaded with the Father to forgive his murderers, forever changing this world here and now.

Coming Kingdom @Night
Monday Oct 02, 2017
Monday Oct 02, 2017
As Christians, we have frequent familiarity with the words, “Your Kingdom come.” We say it during prayers at church, in reciting the Lord’s prayer in schools, and it wouldn’t even be uncommon to hear during official secular ceremonies. But how often do we let the words sit with us, to let the mission and advocacy resonate with us, to be drawn into the enveloping awareness that for millennia, Christians around the world have sought the coming Kingdom and our Lord’s will to be carried out?
Our scientific, empirical society built the modern world, and in doing so, left out any room and explanation of the nature of the Kingdom of God, leaving us only with ethereal images of harps and clouds and pearly gates and gold painted streets. Guest Speaker Alec Michie examines how our 21st Century Western understanding of what Heaven is like, is fundamentally flawed, because we have become so isolated within our own riches and wealth that we are numb, and have forgotten the expanding reality that Zechariah was heralding. Zechariah speaks truth in today’s world, as he did to our ancestors over 2,500 years ago.
To an impoverished people who were returning from exile, in the midst of heartache, Zechariah taught the remarkable truth that the unfolding reality of the Kingdom of God is at hand even now, and one day, the created order would be made right. He taught us that Heaven is firmly rooted in this world, in dirt and grace - and its encouragement to us today, as it was in ancient times, is that our world can move forwards in the dynamic, expanding reality of truth, justice, love and even hope to see new life in every home across our nation and our world.
Join with Alec Michie, and the NewLife@Night service, as we seek His Kingdom and truly understand what it means to say “Come Lord Jesus.”
